I hope I've got this right. I'll find out soon enough, I suppose.

Anyway, this is the first time a mix using digital media was as close as compiling a mixtape, and almost as fast. Well, almost. Took twice as long, but we're still talking an afternoon and an evening, on and off. (A mixtape only used to take me an evening, after dinner)

It has to be right - it's for a 13 year old boy, whose Dad is Algerian and whose Mum (a Brit) is my lifelong friend. Hopefully, there's a little something here for everyone.

I've gone from a fun, amusing start, to rock, then electronica, followed by reggae fusion, then over to Africa, ending with something for everyone. The track 'Ne Me Jugez Pas' is sung in Algerian French, so, fingers crossed, that should be well-received. The tempo is consistently upbeat with some breathing space mid-way, so it should be good for a party, or for playing loud when everyone's out. Hee hee, essential 13 year old behaviour! Well, I am his Aunty Babs. ; )

No, who said I'm a people-pleaser??

Instead of looking at my iTunes and being overwhelmed, I did it the way I used to - begin with one song and let that lead me to the next track and the next. What was nice about building a digital mix was I could do a two hour 'sketch', then all I had to do was edit it back to make it fit an 80 min CD. In 'playlist', I was able to move tracks around, so I was able to 'fit' tracks to the preceding one, resulting in a nice progression forwards.
