Elizaveta‘s travels have come around full-circle. Her parents were Russian interpreters for the U.N., so she was born in New York City. Shortly after she was born, she moved back to Moscow. Years later while spending time in Italy, with her mom’s blessing, she came back to the United States. At U.S.C. she double majored in Music Compostion and Opera Performance. Her musical heroes include Nina Simone, The Police, Elton John and Bjork. With that being said, the mixture of those artists can give you a good idea where her music is coming from.

Last.fm Presents musically celebrates St.Patrick’s Day by bringing you all of the sessions we’ve captured by musicians from Ireland. We’ve opened our studio door to host sessions by Snow Patrol, Two Door Cinema Club, Bell X1 (twice!), James Vincent McMorrow, Imelda May and The Swell Season. (Well the male-half of The Swell Season is Irish). We also took a rare trip out of our home to Atomic Heart Studio for a session by Ash.

The crew at The Syndicate got the music events at South By Southwest officially started on Tuesday night with their now legendary Conflict Of Interest showcase. It took place at Hype Hotel at 504 Trinity Street and was presented by Feed The Beat. On the bill was Oberhofer, Incan Abraham, Little Hurricane, Miniature Tigers, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. and Delta Spirit. When the bands weren’t playing, Aaron Axelsen from Live 105 in San Francisco was Djing. Food provided by Taco Bell! Click-thru for some photos from the inside.

Last.fm Live celebrated its inaugural NYC event this past February with four psych-rock bands at the small venue – with a BIG soundsystem – Dominion NY. Fans of the psychedelic spectrum were treated to a range of rising new artists within the genre (and beyond), and the uninitiated were rewarded for their music curiosity with three killer live sets, an incredible sound system, and a pre-release listen to Mexican Summer’s newest offering, Mike Wexler‘s Dispossession.
