2. What song makes you sad?
Erm…I'm not sure if I can think of a song that actually makes me sad, but depending what mood I'm in, certain songs just seem to reflect that and make everything worse. Yeah.

3. What is the most annoying song in the world?
At the moment, probably something like She's So Lovely. In general just any overplayed, overhyped crap.

4. Your all time favorite band?
Led Zeppelin and, to be fair, Manic Street Preachers too.

5. Your newly discovered band is?…

This is a retaliation to Andy's "An angry blog to the NME" entry, in which he asks what Manic Street Preachers have done to deserve NME's Godlike Genius award this year.

Well, I can talk journalist-style about their individuality, longevity, energy and iconicity 'til the cows come home, but it's all been said, and we know all these things, so what would mean more to me is something more along the lines of a personal reflection of my Manics fandom. It has been long, meaningful, influential and certainly very fun.

Something's really bugging me about Last.FM which is that I can see who my neighbours are, which is cool of course, but then when I look at who their neighbours are, 90% of the time, I'm not on there! This leads me onto being really curious about who has me as a neighbour, rather than who my neighbours are.

I can't be the only one who has wondered about this, surely?

Manchester Versus Cancer 2008.

Today I have my first Sunday morning off in months (thanks Nick!) because lastnight me and Lauren went to the third Manchester Versus Cancer gig at the MEN Arena. We wanted to go last year but couldn't afford it, so made a point of definitely going this year. We heard all these amazing recurring rumours about who was meant to be playing - especially that Liam Gallagher and Ian Brown were gonna be singing together with Andy Rourke, Peter Hook and Steve White and also that The Verve were on the bill.

My band, The Spinning Jennys have entered Cave Records' Most Promising Band 2008 competition! To vote for us, all you have to do is send a text. They are £1.50 each plus your standard network rate, which seems a little bit extortionate for a text, but what else could you buy with that? Two cans of Coke and a couple of packets of Space Raiders? Kinda puts it into perspective…it's not so bad. =P
