Doom to the Tomb II, Saturday 2nd April

Last Saturday we played the second Doom to the Tomb all dayer at The Grosvenor, Stockwell, South London. It was a wicked day with some excellent bands and a crap load of booze drunk by all (but especially Koresh). The line up was:

Obiat
Pombagira
Dead Existence
Tomb King
Koresh
Flatlands
Gorse
Trippy Wicked & the Cosmic Children of the Knight

The best band for me were headliners Obiat. It was the first time I'd heard them and they were really good type stuff with some sounds thrown in for good measure.

I've seen Pombagira before and they were as as ever. I don't know how many songs they played but it may have only been the super long Black Axis Abraxis.

Again I've seen Dead Existence before and they get better every time. The last track they played was my favourite as it's got that real southern swing to it. It reminded me of Sofa King Killer which is a very good thing.

Tomb King were good but not really my cup o tea. I could hear a lot of Om influence in there but I didn't catch much of their set so can't comment too much. They pulled a good crowd.

Koresh were the most entertaining band of the day. I heard them being compared to Iron Monkey by a few people but they've got the "Lets get drunk as hell and play some heavy music as hard as we can" attitude just right. It's music, played with all the passion they can muster.

Flatlands were another stand out band I guess cos I hadn't seen 'em before. Lots of real riffing mixed with very quiet parts.

I didn't catch any of Gorse's set but by all accounts they were good.

We (Trippy Wicked & the Cosmic Children of the Knight) opened up the day with our , , stylings and had a wicked time.
