My cousin turned me onto to CCR when I was a kid. "Down on the Corner" was the first song of theirs I remember--they had a distinctive sound, just like the Beach Boys, Beatles, Stones, et al. As for Frampton, I think he did some good stuff that wasn't as well known as the mega-popular "Frampton Comes Alive" album. Everybody and their dog seemed to own that piece of vinyl!

Condolences for the Hawks--looks like they went out with a whimper instead of a bang. Looks like the Celtics have the inside track now! Even though it's early, looks like Montreal is giving Pittsburgh a run for the money in the NHL. Damn! How many times did I use the word "looks" in this shout (LOL)?

Aw man, I feel your pain. Hawks lose a 12-point lead at the half and get waylayed for the second time by the Magic! Although, losing a double digit lead at haltime in the NBA is no big deal. Right now, it looks like a Celtics-Lakers final which have to make the networks happy. Then again, it could all change by next weekend! Suns and Hawks wouldn't provide a ratings bonanza, but I'd be cool with it.

Sounds like you made a good purchase for your burgeoning collection! One day at work I played a game with my co-workers: What was the last vinyl album you purchased? It was pretty interesting to see what the responses were. For me, it was 'Cosmic Thing' by the B-52's. Are the Hawks gonna have anything left in the tank for Orlando?

Hi buddy, how are ya? I see your number of plays has exploded exponentially! I never figured you as a technocrat (LOL). Doing some minor chores before tonight's MLS game, but I'll switch over to Saturday Night Live if the game isn't so great. Are you back to 100% following your illness?

Hi Endy--feeling better these days? I just stopped by to graze on some of your Duncan Sheik. I've added several songs of his in the past, but only White Limosine plays. I scoped out your play list and sure enough, some of the stuff I thought I had in my library obviously wasn't there, so I borrowed a couple of tunes to see what happens. Ahh, technology. I'm glad I don't do this for a living--I'd be frazzled!

I guess on the plus side, if you live in a cold-weather climate like me, you don't spend much time outside this time of year. I haven't heard of too many people near me that have contracted it, but the people they've interviewed on television that got say it felt like they suddenly got hit by a sledgehammer--really tired, groggy, and achey as you described. Then again, this is a hectic time of year. I got most of my Christmas running around done, so I can just chill and send out cards in a couple of weeks. Here's to your speedy recovery. I've got so many unused sick days at work, I'd gladly give you some if need be!!

Thanks--when I was 25 I couldn't envision turning 50 let alone 51. I ought to download "Alive and Kicking" by Simple Minds to commemorate the occasion! Bummer about your "lost literature"--funny how inspiration hits oneself. One minute you're a whirling dervish and the words flow quite easily, then the next you can't spit out a syllable let alone put it on paper. Serendipity and happenstance can be cruel and succulent mistresses to the artist (depending on the circumstances). Oh well, cest la vie as they say in Bourdeaux!

Hi Endy--how's it going? Looking forward to Thanksgiving (I get turkey with my birthday cake this year--yea!!), I volunteered to host the family this time--should be fun. Now if I can only keep the calorie monster at bay, it will truly be a successful November! Written any good poems lately? Every so often I like to impress people at work by reciting "The Reason for the Pelican" by John Ciardi--just a little something I still remember from 7th grade (why I still remember it, I don't know)!
