I’ve had quite a busy year behind me and this journal almost didn’t make it. Anyway due to that situation, I didn’t get the time I like to listen to and discover music. Nevertheless my year was pretty good, so I’m not complaining. However this does influence my review of 2008, so partially I’ll deal with the albums I really liked that got released this year and the ones that weren't released in this year. The second part will concern tracks I listened to frequently throughout the year, but aren’t from any of the aforementioned albums as it may be quite obvious that I liked those. The third list consists of albums that either reached me too late or which I didn’t get my hands on yet. In short, I just hadn't spend enough time with them and want to give them a chance. Finally there’s also a short paragraph on my biggest surprise of this year. And by the way all lists are in alphabetical order.

Surprise of 2008
Biggest surprise were the releases coming from a label called Tympanik Audio.
I remember reading a message from Tony Young (Autoclav1.1) once, in which he announced switching labels. I didn’t care much as I was without a favourite label for years. No offence to any label, but I’m solely interested in hearing my favourite artists’ work. I know I’m being narrow-minded here, but I honestly do not mean to offend. However Tympanik Audio currently fits exactly my primary music taste: daring electronic music which can either act as ambient soundscape or intelligent background music. Therefore becoming my favourite label. I hope this year will be another great year for Tympanik Audio as I plan on following and checking out more of its artists. The albums I heard in 2008 are the following:

I’d like to finish up by thanking all the musician and bands who enriched 2008 for me, whether it was a new album, a concert or a rediscovered record. Further would I like to thank anyone who has read this journal. This entry will soon be followed with the typical side notes I like to place next to the lists I revealed. In it I will mention other interesting acts to check out. (never came to the point, been too busy)
