Sun 25 Jan – Grace Jones

Worth the £35.00 ticket! It was a rousing performance from a brilliant pop star. She really did own the stage last night. Striding around in extravagant and revealing costumes, looking far younger and fitter than most grans I know. It was a very special evening, like I was witness to a rare show. One that won't be repeated anytime soon. She changed costume frequently. There was some spicy (or downright filthy!) humour heard offstage, while the stage sat in total blackness, everyone anticipating her return.

It hit me during the new harder edged chorus of Sailor. IAMX are now nothing akin to Sneaker Pimps. IAMX - the fully fledged electro rock act, an act that’s getting airplay on Kerrang Radio (alongside Panic at the Disco and Foo Fighters) has morphed into, as Chris likes to say, a whole new beast (well, a rather gothic and theatrical kind of beast) Is this a good thing?
