For the park-n-ride shuttles, you buy your ticket at the lot. The Hollywood Bowl website has the locations. I go to the one at the LA ZOO, park my car for free, walk to the line of buses, pay the waiting attendant by the bus (I think it's $4 now for the roundtrip), and the bus will drop you off at the very entrance. It's great. After the concert, there will be a line of buses at the bottom of the Bowl hill, just make sure to get on any of the ones designated for the lot you parked at. (P.S. Avoid the Hollywood & Highland lot, since that one charges you to park there, which defeats the purpose of you saving some money).
