Hello_its_Emma
I have two Opeth albums: Still Life, and Blackwater Park. It's been a least a year or more since I've listened and I don't remember either of them really. Since it was hard for me to get into, should I listen to either of those again, or try something else from them?

It was because they got popular in a short amount of time. Metal fans like to bring them up and get upset when they get popular. Who cares what other people think, Trivium can get whiney at times but what band doesn't? I still listen to them, and get strange looks from "Metal Purist's". Fuck em'.

I agree with what you are saying but it is all up to the tour manager. I remember a few years ago I went to go see Breaking Benjamin and they were the headliners for their tour. then when their tour was over their tour manager booked them to open for Three Doors Down and they were not happy at all . They felt they were a equal band to them and there was alot of problems with that and they refused to open for them. So it is really up to the tour managers and when you go to these huge festivals there are so many different genres of bands playing...

I listen to all types of music and most of the time depending on my mood I like to listen to screamo music. To answer your question that is their managers that set those tours up and I think it is done to mix the genres of music so maybe someone lets say that comes to see Dark Tranquility will listen to a scremo band and like them Live...As you know bands sound so much different Live and there have been alot of bands that I would never think I would like their music but heard them Live and liked them....My library has all kinds of music in it but I like metal. I saw Dark Tranquility and Killswitch Live and both were good...Your About Me you say you like psychology I am actually in my 2nd year and love it....What do you like about it and have you had courses in it?

Saw your post on Three days Grace, I totally agree with you, Adam is the heart of that band and no one will be able to sing their songs like he did. I have heard the bassist brother ( from TDG) Matt Walst is taking over. Haven't heard his voice yet..

I do like the vocals of Tesseract but most prog bands nowadays seem to borrow alternative rock or metalcore styled vocals lately. You might like Absent Distance if you like Tesseract instrumentally but want a baratone voice.
