Congratulations to Travis frontman Fran Healy, who is celebrating after becoming a father for the first time, after his German fiancee Nora Kryst gave birth to a baby boy last Friday (10th March 06). The Scottish singer, who announced Kryst's pregnancy in November last year, posted the announcement on the band's website messageboard on Wednesday (15th March 06). The 32-year-old wrote, "Hey y'all, just to wave a flag and say that Nora gave birth to a healthy wee boy on Friday. We are all home now and the baby smell is everywhere. Oooooo, we have a son. Nora is the greatest. Anyways, back to nappyville." The ecstatic parents have been engaged since 2000.

Meanwhile, Fran and the rest of Travis recently completed the last session of recording for their 5th album, due out later this summer. It is currently being mixed by the legend that is Nigel Godrich.
