Hey. We went to the Gisèle Vienne performance yesterday and it was as you said. Cool, dark and strange. They'd built an awesome looking forest with nice lighting, at times lots of smoke and very good, loud music. Only downside was the audience. They were constantly coughing and yapping and taking out their phones for text messaging. Around 30 people even left before the end. I've never seen a crowd this annoying. A group of toddlers might have done a better job at being polite than these so-called cultured people. I can't tell what the fuck they were doing there. Anyhow, 'twas definitely worth it. Never seen anything like it.

Well I can't say I expected it on such short notice. Should've thought of it before. Anyhow, the invitation stands, so feel free to call if at any point in time you feel a strong urge to go west. There'll just be a little less to do :) I was already going to check out Dark Buddha Rising when I saw it in your list because of the name. Could've been a psytance act too. Just listened to Ritual IX. Good stuff, especially the third song on first listen. I wasn't able to find the Temples album yet. Only two demos and "Taajuuksia" on their... unique... website. I guess I'll download those first. Do you have a link to the self titled album? And now of course I have to recommend something to you. I don't think you'll know zZz: The sound of zZz. So check it out.

It might interest you that you can get from Hamburg to Leer with a Niedersachsen ticket. They cost 28 euros for 5 persons or 20 for a single person. You can get it cheaper if you buy it from someone at the station or share the price with people going the same way. You can also ask around for people who have a ticket already (easier than you think) and you'll be able to travel free or you can offer 5 euros or so. I believe from there to groningen it's 15 euros per person. We didn't have to pay last time because we couldn't figure out the weird ticket machine and neither could the railway employee :P How was Ulver?

Moin moin, I'm getting tickets for the Gisèle Vienne performance tomorrow. Thanks for the tip. It seems like this year's Noorderzon festival is going to be quite worthwhile so Trynke and I were thinking maybe you and Karo (C or K?) would like to come to Groningen? It's probably the best time of the year to come because there'll be plenty to do, see and hear. We can offer you a place to sleep and maybe even fix you up with some bicycles (I'd have to check). That is of course, if you aren't bound by work, school or other plans to stay in Hamburg. The festival is from the 19th until the 29th of august. I think there's nothing special the first day though. John Garcia plays in Vera the 18th, unrelated to the festival. Oh, and most of the bands are free of charge.
