Free music stab in the dark: Machinae Supremacy
3 May 2007, 01:18
So I felt like something a bit different while I waited for my Iced Earth CDs to be delivered, so I thought I'd look through the Free Downloads section. I clicked the Metal tag, and here's the stab in the dark. Machinae Supremacy ey? Interesting name, lots of tracks listed, so I had a poke around the artist pages and wikipedia and eventually downloaded Deus Ex Machinae.
I'm most of the way through my 2nd listen to the album as I type, and I must say I'm really impressed. The band aren't exactly small, I was surprised how popular they are since they offer all their music for free, but I'd still never heard of them or seen them on anyone's charts. I'm loving
Flagcarrier and
Throttle and Mask so far!
Anyways, some tags. I thoroughly recommend downloading the album (how can you go wrong, it's legal, speedy and free!?) to fans of heavy metal, thrash metal, melodic death metal, industrial metal, power metal, game music & sid metal (a genre they created).
Alexander Brandon/Anthrax/Blind Guardian/Children of Bodom/DeadXheaD/Diablo/DragonForce/Frank Klepacki/In Flames/Iron Maiden/
Judas Priest/Kotiteollisuus/Kreator/Manowar/
Megadeth/Metallica/Nightwish
/Pantera/Rage Against the Machine/Rammstein/Sepultura/Slayer/Soilwork/Sonata Arctica/Steve Vai/System of a Down/Testament

i like the whole 'Deus Ex Machinae' thing, a bit of wordplay always goes well with me so i guess i'll wait til i get home to d/l the whole thing and see if the music lives up to the words...

Cheers Naz^, I plan to download them but I don't want to get too many songs at once, I'm trying to space them out somewhat. I downloaded Jets'N'Guns OST the day after I wrote this journal, so that's a lot of new material! I might download some of the older stuff now actually... no patience!
Btw, where's best to get hold of Redeemer? Not many places seem to sell it.

I don't know much about availability of the retail edition of Redeemer outside Sweden and Finland, but if you're able to buy it abroad I suggest either http://www.cdon.com/ (Swedish) or http://www.recordshopx.com/ (Finnish).
The original Underground Edition can only be bought from MaSu's own webshop: http://shop.machinaesupremacy.com/product_info.php?cPath=3&products_id=35 -
