I am in the process of transferring songs from CD to MP3 so I expect to get most of my Tom Waits, Neil Young and Richard Thompson CDs on my player soon, so expect big changes in my favourite Artists listings. Recently additions of Bill Chambers, Gary Stewart and Dwight Yoakam to my MP3 player saw all artists enter my Top 10 favourite artists.

I added listings for my Top 20 albums Country and Non-country, as well as my Top 20 Movies and TV series. It almost impossibly difficult to limit these things to 20, 30 or even 50 items. So in the near future - I plan to expand each list as a Journal Entry - for my Top 100 in each category. Stay Tuned!

I love Real music - I can't stand soulless music. Most Pop music I dislike. I like songs with great lyrics - but good instrumentation is important.
My favourite Genres are - Country, Americana, No depression, Red Dirt music, however you want to describe it. Plus a helping of British/Irish Rock and Folk. I also like some Rock Music and Soul Music.
I also like Latin Music - although most of it is new too me. I like the Music of Mexico, Central America and South America. Its a huge genre and one its going to take me a long time to figure out!!

15,000 - Brent Mitchell – December, Texas [2009/06/30]
I will add my favorite Tracks for each 5,000 Tracks I listen to.
Some big changes happened on Last.fm that changed my listening. When I first joined there were more labels available so everything I listened to was in the Last.fm library but due to some labels withdrawing I have moved over to listening to my own CDs. Also I finally succumbed to technology and got myself a MP3 player. So things should reflect my real taste more.

[2] Andy Kershaw
[3] John Paul Jones
[4] John Peel
[5] Charlie Gillett
I wish I had kept more recordings of the Wally Whyton show that ran on Radio 2 on Thursdays - it was my education in country music - along with the wonderful UK magazine - Country Music People.
