Zappa's one of those rare artists (like Dylan, Miles and The Beach Boys) whose oeuvre is endlessly rewarding. And the fact that he left behind a massive back catalogue means you're never likely to tire of the great man's work. I find it interesting that Zappa was one of the few American rock musicians to incorporate elements of modern classical into his music. A lot of Prog bands in Europe were doing it but not too many Americans (Chicago maybe?).

I've finally managed to fix this Shoubox malarkey. Took me ages to figure it out. I've just noticed that Zappa is receiving regular plays Chez Walter. What albums are you currently grooving to?

I'm Walter and I dig tunes. I tend to go for stuff made between 1967 and 1989. Stuff prior to 67 is can be quite cool, but post-89 fare is only worthwhile when its made by pre-89 heroes. As for tunes that were made within the 67-89 time frame... wow! That's truly good stuff! Jazz-fusion, progressive rock, psychedelia, punk, funk, soul, garage, proto-punk, synthpop, post-punk, and loads of other styles made this the most vibrant and inventive era in music.

Sadly, today's music is meritless trash.

Music made by post-1989 buffoons is not so much 'music' as it is one of the following:

1) Irrelevant noise-wankery of the poorest sort.
2) A diluted knock-off of real music.

If you've been seduced by post-89 hacks, do yourself a favour and listen to real artists. The golden age of music surpasses everything that modern clowns have cooked up. Don't bother with today's debasers. Go ahead and treat yourself to awesome, pre-1989 treasures. Not only will you thank me, but you'll also realize the folly of your flawed listening habits. Take it from someone who remains unsullied by the lies of the deceivers. Do the right thing and stand up for the pre-89 way.

Say "NO!" to new music!
