Hello again... I recently ordered Returning Jesus from Amazon along with some other stuff that's getting released at the end of the month and I just couldn't handle the wait any longer and downloaded it. The verdict is, you were right, it's absolutely gorgeous music. Do you know who the trumpet player is? I'd like to find what stuff he's involved in. He/she has a very pleasant tone.

Hey, you familiar with 'Blue October'?, or how about Bitter:Sweet? If not, then I have something fun for you to check out.

I checked out Rosie Thomas, and while she has a lovely voice, she is not my cuppa tea. I dunno what it is with me and sad/wistful sounding women, but me no likee. My husband LUVS that sorta thing, tho, so I sent it his way. I also recently gave him my Vienna Teng album cuz I couldn't abide her after awhile either. If you haven't heard her, you might look her up! I don't think she's on last.fm...

Don't worry about sending me anything. I'll be alright. And I've heard Talk Talk before but I don't really like it. Something about the music just doesn't sit right with me.

Oh yeah, I see what you're saying. I'll probably leave their indie-sounding stuff alone. I think having Flowermouth, Schoolyard Ghosts, and Returning Jesus will probably be enough No-Man music. I'm trying to make my collection of CDs a little more varied and there's some serious money constraints on that right now. And I'll let you know what I think when I get it but it probably won't be for a while since I have to get it online and I usually wait until I want enough stuff and have enough money for it that I can get free shipping off Amazon. It'll probably be in December but it's on the list! And I had read that fact about Porcupine Tree. It makes sense, though, as early PT is really out there and No-Man is significantly more accessible than PT's first couple of albums. It's almost hard to believe the change Porcupine Tree has undergone during the course of its existence. Comparing Fear of a Blank Planet to the Sky Moves Sideways is like comparing two different bands.

Returning Jesus is a must-buy, then, as I've found that whenever I need a No-Man fix Schoolyard Ghosts wins out over Flowermouth about 80% of the time. Thanks for that wonderfully informative post! However, what exactly do you mean by more easily digestible? I fell in love with Schoolyard Ghosts the first time I listened to it and I can't imagine something being more digestible than that! haha

Hey Peach! How ya feelin'?! Did I remember to tell you I'm out of town next week? I may be online here and there, but in case I don't respond to your hails, that's why. :-)

41 year old male, husband and father of three girls (hence my need to escape with my music), 2 fish (5 years and running), 2 birds and 2 felines. I am a working stiff (Letter Carrier for the USPS, hence I am really STIFF - my joints, sick people, MY JOINTS!), and an avid fan of music. I need it surrounding my every move... so, this is just my place to hang out.
