If you just have the one and need to get rid of it, I have a friend who is in need?

Ah. Hah. Ahem. Hit the nail on the head there. It seemed like you were having a rough night, 'cause your music was coming off a bit strong, I fretted about it, as I do from time to time, thought it big enough that I'd check that it was nothing seriously bad, then realised the level of uncertainty that I had even interpreted it remotely right was high enough that there was a pretty damn good chance that the question would sound idiotic. I mean, I think that music can be a good indicator of mood at least, and even, in a pretty abstract sense, can say something of thought streams, but it's incredibly individual-specific, and I'm not confident enough to say I could begin to think of what your music means to you in that sense, except where you gave a running commentary in your letters, and that's only slight. I guess I figured that at least some musical evocation is relatively universal, but, eh. Have to split this in two, lulz.

Valid concern, paranoid delusions, funny how similar they can be, and quoting a musical basis for a reason doesn't exactly shout out in favour of the earlier. I knew you'd get an email, but I vaguely hoped that the whole deleting thing would kind of indicate a 'I'm taking that back' and spare the slight humility of a reply. Obviously not, and obviously the thought that I would hold dignified silence about it as response (I was doing so well too :'D) was shattered by that dubious and I suspect incredibly female (or maybe just incredibly me) need to explain. Extensively. Over-copiously, even. Grah. More spam for your front page. That said, that progress report is terrifying, almost as terrifying as the forest death required to print that thing, which may well be the death of you. Or me. Ah, well, the world turns on regardless.

*Shrugs* Different mental state, different music. Although I have no idea how Last.FM works its magic with that compatibility thingo, I suspect it's of the smoke and mirrors kind. Either way, don't worry, it'll drop down to something more miserable soon enough. I used to be a sceptic about the difference between live and recorded music (conclusion being: live is louder, no thanks) but after hearing several cellos live I've become far more fanatical of them than if it was left to a CD. so I have a lot more respect for live performances, and am somewhat sad that I'm still deterred by the noise and crowd uh... crowdedness [pushiness/suffocation] -- especially since I think audience dynamics are part of the experience/significance of live performances. Oh well, ears over enlightenment.

Re: geohappenings, I considered being consolatory, but, y'know *makes weighing motions with hands* beach, Paris, beach... it'd be an awkward kind of lunacy to advocate for your side of things. Even if you did something enviably exciting, like coral reef diving while you were in Gladstone. Speaking of exciting, I am significantly more enthused at the prospect of seeing Minchin (and have just realised that is a lulzy name) yet will continue to take the risk of procrastination until I know what my schedule will be like this year (I wanted to say next year, it's 09 already? Gah). And, apparently, tomorrow neither ever comes or dies, so trusting a disobediant/antisocial immortal to fix your adium seems a bit unwise.

Hooray you live! And'awww, I missed the old profile >: Also, seeing Tim Minchin? Awesome! Actually, ou'er, I'll be in Adelaide when he is... mm. Gaw, I'm so terribly lazy when it comes to gigging *headdesk* It sounds like such a cut throat world though, with all the lost-ticket laments and black market buying, I don't think pseudo-enthusiasm would get far. :B Still, who could miss out on seeing that hair? (I mean, uh, musical comedic witticisms)
