Hakkımda
Electronic sound sculptor & designer Ian McArthur has evolved the aiffhead sound since the early 80's. The process began with McArthur's realisation that punk had democraticized music and non-musicians could validly experiment with sound as a means of expression. aiffhead continues to assemble evocative digital soundscapes using a minimalist strategy both technologically and aesthetically.
aiffhead is most known in China where while living in Shanghai (2001 - 2003) he worked with Shanghainese rap star Masta Loop creating the track "Hi-Rize" which was at one point in 2002 the most downloaded Chinese hip hop track on the internet.
In 2005 a limited edition 3' CD of the track "Cities" was released on French Canadian art label Avante Avante. Los Angeles producer and electronic artist Choncey Langford included aiffhead material on the track "Electric Word" released on his album "The Enthusiast" also in 2005 on the Seattle-based label Woodson Lateral.
