Thu 5 Apr – Heritage Hunter Tour
This was my umpteenth seeing Opeth, a second or third time seeing at the Orpheum Theater in Boston, a second time within almost 4 months.
The set was still Heritageheavy, with 5 full songs from the latest album, which has grown in me, to the point that I can pretty much sing along to any of those songs, despite their convoluted, prog-heavy melodies and rhythm shifts.
However, the highlight must have been the last song, the ever reliable heavyweight crowd pleaser Deliverance. If Opeth sometimes sounded a little weary earlier in the set, this more than made up with its precise execution and unbridled aggression and energy.
If I had to pay for the whole show just to watch that last ten minutes, I would have still been very happy.
Set list:
The Devil's Orchard
I Feel the Dark
Windowpane
Slither
Burden
The Lines in My Hand
Folklore
The Grand Conjuration
Deliverance
