OHMYGOD … I haven't heard this song for SO many years. Many years ago, my friend Justin (who I met in Paris, seeing Depeche Mode) taped me a Camouflage album (can't for the life of me remember what it was called) and it had this song on it - That Smiling Face. And I loved it. And I haven't heard if for SO many years. And now I have it again - and it sounds gorgeous.

In fact today, I have been mostly listening to tracks that I haven't heard for years … Assimilate by Skinny Puppy, Ministry…

… it keeps crashing my computer … bag of shite.
Still it seems to be working ok now, and listening to EMPIRE… the new Kasabian CD. I like it … the boy doesn't - well - he says half of it's ok. It's not as instant as Kasabianbut I don't think it's too shabby - personally.

I'm getting very bored of the music I have at the moment. On my MP3 player I tend to listen to The Charlatans on shuffle, or simply putting my player on shuffle. There aren't many albums I will listen to all the way through any more. I think that's why THIS is so eclectic because I listen to everything on shuffle. We have SO many CDs that there's stuff I don't often listen to. Well, it all started quite a long time ago … about 16 years ago in fact. I was sent a tape by someone who saw my name in a penpal column (forget which one, possibly the Depeche Mode one!). He only sent me one letter, and in that one letter was a tape. That tape was a compilation of Dead Can Dance, Cocteau Twins and This Mortal Coil. I'm still on the rumpy pumpy one … compiling my list (there's been SO many!).
Ok … here's another one, despite my best efforts, I'm often late for things (I never used to be, I used to always be at least 1/2 hour early - now, I just always seem to be late). Therefore I often put specific music on to accompany my lateness and get my legs moving a little bit faster:

My obsession with music really started with my obsession with lyrics. Amazingly enough,
Depeche Mode's lyrics. Now, I sometimes find them laughable … I know it's awful, but I do. Still in the 'old days' I would play Somebodyagain and again and sob silently into my overlong black jumper, wondering whether I would find that 'Somebody' to share, 'share the rest of my life'. (I have!)

OOOOH, this is quite exciting … a new place to come and play on the interwebworldwidecommunitythingy.
Apparently I don't listen to enough music on my PC yet to warrant a chart being produced of the music I listen to. I can answer why that is … my HARD DRIVE collapsed on me and lost all my godamned music … grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. So currently, I have about 6 albums on itunes. DOH. Still at the moment I'm listening to Lovely 2 C U … damned splendid.
Well this is just a start … going to play on that FM radio thingy now…
