I am not a scenester. I can honestly say that I don't care what's popular, but that I listen to what I want to in order to expand my musical tastes- which definitely need expanding. I might listen to Amon Amarth one day and A Perfect Circle the next, as long as I actually like it.
Right now, I like melodeath and power metal (mainly extreme power metal).

HOW IT WORKS:
I keep a playlist that I listen to on random in Amarok. Each song is given a rating, 1 to 5 stars, and how often it comes up is based on the rating through Amarok's "Favor Higher Ratings" function. I constantly update the playlist and the ratings to reflect my taste, so my profile isn't totally worthless.

7000th track played: Scar Symmetry - Pitch Black Progress or Stratovarius - Speed of Light- Last.fm may have counted a song I deleted from my recent tracks, hence the mystery.
