We headed off to Blackjack 2007, a miniature music festival which wasn't a particularly miniature price (almost $95 all up). It was worth the money though, to finally see the Pixies live. Yessssssssss!!!
I've seen Kim Deal in her three best known bands now: the Breeders, the Pixies and the Amps. Yeehaw!!! The Pixies were absolutely amazing. They played so many great songs, but then they had so many to choose from. I still like the Breeders better, but I still thoroughly enjoyed myself. The highlights for me were "Monkey Gone To Heaven", "Here Comes Your Man" (though the former sounded better!) and the last song in the encore, "Gigantic". OMG!!! It was so totally awesome and moving. I was almost in tears over "Gigantic"!
We also saw Gnarls Barkley, who were great, but I couldn't get the idea of Paris Hilton giving that guy a blow job out of my head. This trashy magazine at work said that was what was on her latest sex video. Hehe.
Also saw the Living End again. They're always good for a show, but I'm still not a huge fan. They are still going strong though, and more power to them!
