And I have a 'thank you' for you, too - thanks for recommentding Eternal Treblinka! You mentioned quite some time ago and I put off buying it due to my general distaste for the meat eaters = nazis/murderers/whathaveyou lines of argument. But I gave it a look and was very pleased with both the readability and informative nature of the book. I now very much recommend this book to those I believe have some interest in the matter(s). An added bonus - Isaac Bashevis Singer is one of my favorite authors!

Yeah, I've spent much of the past few years in a couple of heavily immigrant workplaces dealing with fellow workers on the basis of ourselves as workers having, in contrast, everything in common. Well, as workers, anyway, in terms of class interest. And the vast majority of our differences can be a source of fun and learning if we make it so.

I disconnected Miles Davis. For the record, I'm not the one who connected him and I have conciously avoided him before as well since I know those things you mentioned. I also disconnected Prince, who have a very dubious history (see my reply to your question here), although not as explicit as Miles' who took an express misogynist viewpoint in his artistry.
