Probably because you don't raid my RYM nearly enough. ;) Speaking of which, I'm probably due to raid yours. Anyway, Asobi Seksu are definitely pretty brilliant, I highly recommend all of their albums. And Spiritualized's too, since I saw you got LGWAFIS. That one's probably their best, but they cover a lot of ground (mostly between spacey noise-rock and gospel, but I'm not even sure what to call Songs In A & E).

I was crazy busy/stressed with end of high school exams (last may) and then my first year of university, plus some other life stuff, and basically took a break from most internet stuff. But it's impossible to stay away forever :)

Eeeee! We haven't had that in a while. It seems I was listening to The Dreaming at the same time you were.

Glad you like them - I was hooked as soon as I heard 'Long Island.' Seen them play a few times too. If I had a criticism it's with quality control - they churn out waaaaay too much crap.

The whole principle of RYM has always seemed a bit silly to me, given how massively subjective the greatness or shiteness of any given band is. Is there more to it than just ratings?

yes, I thought the exact same thing about Lloyd Cole's "Patience" sounding like Steve McQueen era Prefab Sprout.
