If only London Calling or Crossing Border took place next week or during the winter holidays. There's never any good shows during the holidays. Nowhere [in Holland, Germany, Denmark or any other countries that are more or less around the corner... It's too much of a hassle going to Great Britain]. (Don't think I've ever listened to Gorky's Zygotic Mynci. Their name rings a bell though. What I listen to now on Myspace sounds appealing.)

thank you. :) well, one of my best friends just moved to den haag (just asked her to buy a ticket). i guess i'd have a reason then to visit her. ha. but if it all works out, we should definitely spend some time discussing scottish culture, accents etc.!

Hey there neighbour. I noticed you also listen to There Will Be Fireworks and Marching Band. I recently started a music blog and I think it might interest you considering our similar taste =D http://foreignthoughts.tumblr.com Even named after a TWBF song :P

alasdair roberts is very folky indeed. :) 'but' the record's got a great sound, i think. and the band's really good. not too mellow/melancholic, but not a record i would necessarily enjoy listening to in the morning, i guess. ;) lord cut-glass is definitely better for that purpose (and fruit bats too). in fact, it's a record one can always listen to, no? ha, found you on twitter! small small internet.

Spoils by Alasdair Roberts! By falling in love with it instantly I feel quite transparent and predictable though. Please feel free to join me. Or am I joining you? ;)

yesyes. one of my favourite records of the year too, even though i only just started listening to it yesterday (your playlist was quite telling, yes). ;) i'm discovering the delgados now... yes, you have every right to laugh at me. well, it's not out yet, but i hear "the ruminant band" by fruit bats is really really good. ;)

ah, haha, i see! i never even got steve's autograph (neither did i get pete's ... so it's "only" kyle's and kieren's in my which bitch?-booklet. oh well.)... went all a little quick. 751 ?!? wow.

you're welcome. :) i bet it's gonna be amazing. their day off over here the boys spent sleeping, apparently... such a waste. someone should have told them we have good stores for acoustic sessions too! ;) well, i was just about to hand out the stickers (the view amongst others), when he appeared, and i asked him to sign my album, which he did, asking me, if i'd come to the show and i replied that it's sold out ('twas sold out even before the support band was announced...).. yeah well, you can imagine the rest. he's really nice. :) i did leave after the view though. got another t-shirt (a white one with "the view" on it" and a bunny) and went home. good night 'twas.

hey, have you seen this? -- http://www.last.fm/event/999048 . did see them last night. thanks to kieren, basically. :) the setlist was a little predictable ... but well, they were supporting. "one off pretender" worked especially well, i thought.

pardiso? oh, dunno. ;) in the newsletter it's correct ;) ... this doesn't convince you? ... "One for our LM newsletter friends in Europe... Laura is very excited to be heading out on tour again this April/May, and especially so given that she will be accompanying the super talented, multi-instrumentalist, lyricist, whistler and all round musical whizz-kid, Andrew Bird. If you are unfamiliar with his music you can check it out at myspace.com/andrewbird." ..... but yeah, moving can be quite stressful, i do believe you! .... but: andrew bird is live even more exciting than his records will ever be, i guess. although, the latest and "armchair apocrypha" are really really good. and the older ones aren't bad either. ;)

it's all good. who are the view again? laura marling will be andrew bird's support in a few european countries, like holland and germany. good cities too. :)

oke, ik gok dat ik wel bij Jorisz en andere grazzers sta :) Verder weinig andere gezamenlijke concerten, al ga ik misschien nog naar London Calling. Is dat leuk trouwens, The View?

ah. hahah. it's 32 euros for one show. um, insanity or what? so, guess i need to check for online competitions. they usually give away two tickets. so, if i'm lucky, i'll let you know. ;)

well. at least it's two nights in hamburg. and the venue is quite alright. you think one can get a deal, like seeing the support band twice, and leave straight afterwards for the price of one ticket? ;) thanks that sounds sooo tempting (i do like your plans). but all i really need to focus on now and the following weeks/months is my work for college, or i'll never ever finish it. well, at this point, can't do anything majorly distracting.

they support mando diao in germany. not yay. not yay at all. it's probably the end for them, as it was the end for dirty pretty things... (i made that up. the last thing. or maybe not.)

check out "heartbreaker", "gold", "cold roses" or "love is hell". they're my favourites at least. laura seems to prefer the older records as well. (oh yeah, american hiphop, as well as oasis, blur and catch ;)... and i went to see westlife at wembley arena, while pete & carl played all over london in small bars, apparently. had not heard of those guys though. oh, and saw travis and radiohead at top of the pops, just by chance, which was cool... maybe it was in fact them who turned me on to more, um, british music)

ah yeah. you may say that because you've listened to "new romantic". :P laura's got the most grown-up music-taste (well, ryan isn't that grown up...)... can't find her mixtape list now, of course. too bad. i have at least heard of all your favourite bands... i prefer camera obscura over belle and sebastian, i'm afraid. when i lived in london for almost a year (2000/2001) i mostly stayed in our hostel (where i lived and worked). but that hostel doesn't exist anymore, well, they've turned it into appartments... exchange records was excellent (bayswater road; but there's one in camden as well, i think... and there's more).. well, camden is cool. apart from that, not sure. i was into (american) hiphop when i lived in london...

oh, good list! :-) ... this is quite nice, no? - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRT9UT-nUs4 . maybe you need an extra plugin that enables your ipod scrobbling?! mine didn't work for a while. but i think it stopped scrobbling completely after i had installed an update or somethig. maybe check the forums?! i quite like the most recent new pornographers' record... laura who? ;) started the whole scrobbling thing a little over a year ago... my number one (who should be no. 1) got recently kicked out of my top 8 by the view. ;), because i don't like "cardinology" much.... yeah, i mostly listen to music on my ipod too these days. takes ages to find the cds... much easier to look through the ipod menu. ;)

indeed, they are the best songs! ;) ooh, maybe i should stop listening to tokio hotel then. or, um, i mean i should tell my little cousin to get her own laptop! (no, in fact, some of the songs are good)... yeah, i saw you listening to the loose salute a while ago (i think. no?), which was kind of a reminder that i need to check it out. i did, yeah, it's good! i'm still keeping my fingers crossed for when you are in london! oh, and where can i see your end of year list?

Ja ehhh! Wij zouden onze vakantie degelijk voorbereiden! Nouw!
