Also, I don't know how much you listen to metalcore these days, but do you have an opinion on the new August Burns Red album? I have heard many good things about their new album, but they usually receive positive feedback with every release. I just didn't know if you had anything to say on the matter. :)

Yes, I've been meaning to listen to the new Extol album. About a month ago I learned that they were releasing new material. I guess I didn't realise that it was out already! I haven't really listen to much beyond Burial. You did share two songs off Undeceived and I did like them! I guess I just haven't scrobbled much off that album yet. I really should listen to more Extol. They are one of the best Christian metal bands out there. It's just great that they're making music again! You're right, I'd probably love their self-titled album if it resembles the same progressive death/black/thrash metal fusion that made them so interesting in the first place.

Hi dude! It's been going great! I can't really complain about anything. I've just been keeping myself busy. Thanks for asking! How have you been, my friend? It's been a long time since I last spoke with you. I did listen to the new Hope For The Dying album, and I can tell you that I really loved it! :D

Good news! Now hopefully there are teaching jobs available! Everything here is going well. The wedding is approaching. We found an apartment where we can live (without a contract) until the house I want to buy becomes available. The house we're looking at is my parents' neighbor who is 91 and will be moving out soon (on her own terms). We also got a favorable price quote on that house. I'm really excited to start a new life with her by my side.

I checked out the Place Of Skulls song, and others by them. So far they haven't totally pulled me in, but like them enough to give them some more listens. Perhaps they got their band name from Trouble's album "The Skull" and the title track of that album, which is about the crucifixion. Here is a video for the song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txmT0QNoUg0

In the last half of the 90's, I had shed a lot of my traditional metal roots, going in an almost exclusively alternative/modern rock direction. But my metal roots never completely died out. In either pure or watered down form, it continued with left field acts like Galactic Cowboys, heavier alternative bands like Klank or Dub War, and of course Saviour Machine. I eventually added P.O.D to the mix. By the later 2000's I was gradually becoming more musically diverse again, embracing the fresh sound of Nightwish (when Tarja sang). After I signed up with Last Fm, I diversified even more, rediscovering the old doom metal sound of Trouble. In 2012 I began to have some very weird dark experiences, which moved me even further from death metal. So I'm not into the death vocal thing anymore, and am less metal than I used to be, but thanks for the Virgen Black suggestion anyway. If you haven't heard Trouble before, their song "The Wish" is a good start. You might like composer Arvo Part.

Yes Saviour Machine is pretty unique. I would love to see them in concert some time. Unfortunately most people have never heard them. Back in the 80's, my overall direction in rock music, was a mix of new wave, punk, post punk, alternative and hard rock/metal. The first album I ever bought was by Daniel Band (considered heavy metal at the time). Also grew up on Stryper, Bloodgood, and a tiny bit of Motorhead. Plus there was all the electronic, synthesizer & "beat music" I was getting into heavily, from ambient, new age, industrial ,house to rap, and several other genres I was exploring. The early 90's (my late teens and early 20's) was my most metal period, including thrash, doom and death metal, Trouble being one of my favorites. For a brief time I was even writing letters to the lead vocalist of Paramaecium, who wrote back to me and tried to encourage me spiritually. This was also the same time period I first discovered Saviour Machine. Continued...first time I've gone over

Thank you! Elfhiem is actually a band my girlfriend and I have, we're writing music, but lack any other members to do anything about it. Hopefully one day it will be a proper band haha ;) Lucky you! I haven't been able to pre order it, but from what I've heard so far it sounds awesome. Looking forward to hear your thoughts on it.

Vinyl plural is just vinyl. Anyways, yes I just grabbed 3 that weekend. 2 from Mahavishnu Orchestra which has John McLaughlin in it (fantastic guitarist) and I got the always awesome Miles Davis - Some kind of blue reissue. Still wanting to get more but been seeing too many good deals on other stuff lately had to grab it, such as Vengeance Rising - Human Sacrifice. I think I'm more into the jazz fusion category than flat out jazz but maybe I'll work myself into liking it more and more as time goes on.

For a while I considered "Live In Deutschland 2002" my favorite album by Saviour Machine. It's one of those albums that is not only amazing musically, but one I find to be spiritually refreshing. I often sense the Holy Spirit listening to that album. However, after later hearing the entire Live album they did back in 1995, it might actually be a tie. Some of my favorite songs by them are Carnival Of Souls, The Mask, The Wicked Window, The Night, War In Heaven, The End Of The Age, The Promise and The Final Holocaust, etc. On Grooveshark, their entire Live album from 95 plays as one track, which scrobbles to Last Fm as one track. So the song plays for Saviour Machine is higher than the charts reveal. And of course that doesn't include all the unscrobbled plays from my Cd player. Anyway, thanks for the friend request.

Hi! Our music compatibility is low, but I see we are both into Saviour Machine. They have some absolutely phenomenal songs. My mother who is 77 years old (not exactly a huge rock fan) has even commented on Eric Clayton's singing, saying he has a powerful voice.

"From what I understand, he was trying to say that you only experience God's grace whenever you submit to the will of God" - yes, i guess this is what he is trying to say throughout all his preaches and the main concept (so to say) of his is that many churches misinterpret the Scriptures in way that they take parts from the Bible (missing the context) and preach every person who believe in God will enter to the Kingdom of Heaven which is a lie... They sort of preach the easy Gospel for more people to go in church and you know, spend their money, it's all became more like an organisation. As it is written in Matthew 10:22: "he that endureth to the end shall be saved". Which means that only those who will reject the world and sin utterly and die in this state will enter the Kingdom of Heaven... I tend to agree with this man and some other preaches who appeared in the internet in recent days

I guess I never really listened to it much although I have heard of a bunch of the ones you mentioned. I'm just asking because I want to extend my vinyl collection besides just the (rather tough to find sometimes) Christian metal. I'm planning on going to 2 shops this long weekend that specialize in Jazz mostly. The only jazz group I'm familiar with is Weather Report. I saw this website talking about jazz that metalheads should checkout and they mentioned Mahavishnu Orchestra which I've been checking out on Spotify and it's fantastic, more of jazz fusion though. Thanks for the list though I've got more to check out now haha.

yeah, i guess you're right... i think he probably used steroids along with the medical attention or at least with the help of this girl - bodybuilder, don't remember her name... I know it's not right to discuss the things like that, but something tips me off about him being engaged with this girl - the mane reason for an actual action (again - if he is guilty).. But still it seems to me like insane thing.. I can't understand (even admitting the steroid abuse or just use) how could he even think about such a thing? not understandable...

I'm fine, took a vacation finally for 14 days) I agree with you... But as i understood they don't have pretty good evidence against him, i mean they don't have any video or whatsoever... All i heard from the report was like the letter to the hitman or something like that and testimony of witnesses. So i also hope this is not true.

I would say bit of both, though the debate primarly focused on efficiency, intensity and a generally broad angle of socie-economical/pullution issues; I was more than prepared for any qualm regarding America's fossil fuel dependence. Cogeneration was discussed in depth, just as the 'blackouts' proposal (which I criticized a lot xD), but some delegates accused America of not doing anything to restrict or control their usage. To this I answered with thousands of reforms and programs which The EPA takes management of every year, and that many accusations towards America are greatly exaggerated or misinformed. As studies confirmed, America's reached a relative industrial & commercial balance implementing aeolic, thermodynamic, and bioefficient technologies (13.9 b galons of ethanol, anyone?), as well as safety tests on gases. It was really fun and a great experience, would encourage you to try getting into debates but you're already graduating hah, good luck bro.

Yes, these are the paintings of an American artist Thomas Cole. Actually, I like the art of the Romantic Period. They convey the emotions, senses and ideas of their creators very well, make a good impression. Also, they are often filled with history that I particularly like. As regards the pictures on your page, I guess you like astronomy, right?

Thanks for accepting. I created this page not so long ago, hence I've not added everything I listen to. I can't add everything at once due to the lack of time, but I hope to fill my library up during this summer. By the way, nice library and "About Me".
