Technically one might define this as a name drop, however I think of it as an encounter of dream pop genius. That's right. The day after getting almost pulled under the current of sound at a Clientele gig, Alasdair walks into the cafe I was working at. After gushing on how great I thought the show was and serving him his iced coffee he muttered in a barely audible voice "...I'm glad somebody enjoyed it..." Such British modesty and collected cool I thought. It reinforced everything I adore about the band. I'm glad to see you heart them as well. What do you think of their new song "I Wonder Who We Are" ?!

Oh you mean she's not a man then? No I suppose not, but she would make a great spitting image puppet. Oh gawd yes well terry Hall was never the happiest looking of blokes. But I thought he looked a right misery guts n all. I only saw a couple of er highlights? Did they call it? But yes face like a slapped arse springs to mind. And yes madness really stole the whole show I reckon. Their album has to win them a BRIT this time surely. I'm gutted about madness at Carisbrooke too. I have to go to Preston for my brothers wedding. For that whole bank holiday weekend. I could cry at having to miss that. It'll be great. Are you going? oh gawd I never really thought about that in fancy dress shops. Sod that, I reckon you're better orf out of it. OK well have a great Friday and weekend. BFN from Mike.xx

Tell me about it ;) nahhh i do apologise for my delay in reply, i'm kinda rubbish at that sometimes :( I def. woulda been up for a tour with Split Beaver and the Clouts, just imagine the posters?! I've never dared drink before a gig though, i just chew loads of gum and mess around with my pedals mostly. I have a feeling if I did i'd smash my guitar or just play one note for the whole gig or some other disgraceful behaviour...Well I joined that group when I first got lastfm and I was like 'WOW groups...i can totally use these to reflect my personality!' I havent really looked at it since ;) The ones i can see of yours are all good, Shoegaze, Lo-Fi, Indie Pop......wait....Clitrock? WTF??!?

Hello as well um...I only listened to suburban lights once it was decent enough but I usually get hooked after several listens, perhaps I will listen to it a few more times:) Substantive Nothingness- maybe I misspelled substantive-refers to the Buddhist believe that nothingness incorporates all things, as opposed to existential nihilism which views all things as value or substance less. Anyway, listening to a lot of indie pop lately, any Rose Melberg vehicle is worth a listen imao. I've also been hooked the Pastels lately. btw: glad you got some use from that Nietsche passage:) and let me know how things go with SY:) Ok hope your having a great day;-)
