In a recent effort of doing some spring-cleaning in my profile I removed everything from my taglist that resembled genres:
synthpop
indie
trance
electronica
alternative
ndw
german
They all had to go. Essentially, they don't help you find new music and they also don't mean anything since most of the time they are abused like hell on last.fm.
There, feeling better now :)
