They are super - I haven't been listening to many 20th century SQs recently, so am unsure about comparisons - but everything in them feels so very [i]right[/i]! I really enjoy the way that Malipiero keeps you unsure about what is coming next. He has that kind of deceptively tonal-but-weird sound that, say, Sorabji sometimes uses which can alternate lyrical sections with turbulent or sawing passages that somehow work so well together, and bind the works into very tight constructions. Both his symphonies and SQs are special for this low-fat approach, and I will have to check anything else he has done if I come across is cheaply (hah, I doubt it -_-).

I must admit I only know that one album of theirs, Warmer Corners! But it's lovely, and I definitely want to explore more by them, as they seem to me rather like an Australian Belle and Sebastian.

He's one of the many composers out there that I tried out, enjoyed, and never ventured further. I am relistening to his "Reliquary for Igor Stravinsky," and while it's really jagged, the piece has a nice flow that is normally absent in avante garde classical. Did you give me "Reliquary"? I cannot recall how I got it.
