Top 5 albums of 2005

Big year again…

#5 X&Y - Coldplay

http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/126s/88463793.png

First time Coldplay take out a place, but they are one of the greats. This is a fantastic album with highlights such as Talk, Fix You, Speed Of Sound, and What If.

#4 The Sound Of White - Missy Higgins

I had origanlly given this spot to Love. Angel. Music. Baby by Gwen Stefani but decided that this album has more substance to it, more on Gwen later. This album has some awesome tracks on it, and she has such a fantastic and unique voice. Highlights are Scar, The Special Two, Ten Days and The Sound Of White.

#3 Hot Fuss - The Killers

This was another one when i came back from overseas and all my friends were singing Somebody Told Me, i had to find out about these guys. And what an album. Mr. Brightside, All These Things That I've Done, Everything Will Be Alright and Glamourous Indie Rock & Roll.

#2 American Idiot - Green Day

http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/126s/77701986.png

I saw these guys live this year with their American Idiot Tour or whatever it was called. Awesome. Holiday, Jesus Of Suburbia, St. Jimmy, American Idiot and many more.

#1 See The Sun - Pete Murray

http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/126s/90202531.jpg

Had to be Pete's new one didn't it. Fantastic follow up to Feeler with so, so many highlights. My favorites are Class A, Trust, Remedy, George's Helper, Better Days, See The Sun and the rest of the album.

A lot missed out here, and luckily some feature next year otherwise even more would lose out. Monkey Business by Black Eyed Peas deserves a mention because this was their last good album. Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson mainly missed out because i didn't really get into her until later on. In Between Dreams by Jack Johnson, In Your Honor by Foo Fighters, Something To Be by Rob Thomas, Intensive Care by Robbie Williams and Tea & Sympathy by Powderfinger front man Bernard Fanning, to name a few.

I mentioned Love. Angel. Music. Baby. earlier and that's where the song of the year came from in form of What You Waiting For?.
