What band are you in the mood to see live right this second?
I've been watching a LOT of August Burns Red live footage in class lately…
Have you ever been on a tour bus?
Yes, once, when Matt Greiner invited myself and some other girl on their rig two weeks ago!
How many states/provinces have you been to concerts in?
One: Alberta. Soon to be two: I'm flying to Toronto, ON, for Warped!
What CD are you addicted to at the moment?
CD or album? Physical CD, I haven't really listened to one for a while though I buy them on a bi-weekly basis. Album-wise, I've really been digging Messengers (go figure).
Who is one band that you used to like, but now you can't stand?
Bring Me the Horizon. I don't like how Oli's vocals have evolved. They sound more physically painful to listen to than enjoyable.
Do you consider yourself a groupie?
No, but I DO consider myself a ridiculous fangirl when I really like artists!
Which artists haven't you seen yet that you want to see?
There's quite a few. She & Him, Two Door Cinema Club, Vampire Weekend, Mumford & Sons, Brand New… mostly indie bands that don't tour Edmonton as often as bands in "the scene" would.
Are you wearing a band shirt right now?
Ironically, yes, I am – an AA Greeley Estates shirt from last year.

It's a toss-up between Meg & Dia and Blessthefall.

Lyrics? Yes, I've strongly considered it. Album art? Possibly. Band symbol or logo? No.

Anything by Kesha or Lady Gaga or Justin Bieber or Adam Lambert.. basically, any of that pop shit they rotate on Top 40 radio.

Newest would be Nada Surf. I know, they're old. Still. Older music is generally better anyway!

Haha this is biased, but I'd like to say either Meg or Dia Frampton! No? Okay, let's go with Zooey Deschanel. Her voice is undeniably unique.

I just listen to far too many bands in too many different subgenres to be able to choose a Best. That wouldn't be a fair answer.
Music genres you find yourself listening to most?
Indie (rock) and metalcore.

August Burns Red (I've been in a phase for months now), Nada Surf, Arcade Fire
Most hated artist?
I used to loathe Mumford & Sons just from overexposure at my old job; now I enjoy them in small doses. I also used to despise Kesha, but as long as I don't hear her music, I don't really care. I really can't think of anyone I "hate" musically.
Song that makes you think?
I think about all the songs I listen to when they have "real" lyrics (not superficial or "dance"/electronic/rave stuff). Lately I've been thinking a lot about Back Burner, and how it talks about being so materialistic and not having God in our lives and feeling so empty because of it. Also, Inside of Love has had me considering what people will do for love, attempts made in vain to emulate it, and how I want my next relationship to be.
Band that you think the world should know about?
Honestly, I think if the world knew and listened to any of my favorite bands I would start to hate hearing the music, again – from overexposure. Therefore, there isn't really any artist I would answer here.

The flute, basic piano scales, and guitar.

Haha, no, I wish! I'm not THAT talented at guitar, and I can't sing worth shit. I've tried to improve it to the sound of decency but nothing majorly great.
Ever dated a musician?
No. My last boyfriend played guitar as a hobby but that was it.

Not a clue! I don't listen to the radio. And, when I do, I never catch the song/artist names anyway.
What do you think of classical music?
It's great for its genre. I'm not NOT a fan, but that's not to say I'd listen to it on my own time.
What do you think of country music?
It's a strongly hated genre by a lot of people (that I know at least) but there's nothing really wrong with it. Country artists could definitely afford to get rid of the "my dog just died, my truck broke down, my girlfriend left me, so I'ma get drunk tonight" stereotype, though.
What do you think of death metal?
I don't have a problem with it - prefer it to Top 40, but not my cup o' tea.

No.

Again, no. Unless you count the USA as "foreign."

Christian Hansen and the Autistics! They're SO fun to listen to!!

Unfortunately I know a lot of it due to working in a commercialized music/movie/video game store, but I don't follow it, per se.

Famous within the scene? Tons, in that case.

Friends, yes. Famous? No. Family, no.

If I HAD to pick.. Blonde on Blonde. It's chill and not really about anything of major importance that I've really discovered yet.

Blink 182, Meg & Dia, Blessthefall, August Burns Red, She & Him, Pierce the Veil… I think that's about it, actually.
Does a musician's physical attractiveness play a role in the music that you listen to?
The music ALWAYS comes first. I've seen so many attractive guys in bands that I wouldn't listen to even if they gave me a free CD. However… if I like the music enough to research the band, and the members happen to be attractive.. then I start fangirling. A lot.
What famous musician do you want to marry?
I'm at the point in life where the concept of marriage makes me uncomfortable, so none.
Any musician pet peeves?
Douchebag behaviour; e.g., Jonny Craig, Danny Worsnop, etc. You should be doing EVERYTHING to make your fans happy. They're the ones supporting you and basically indirectly paying your bills.

Do you wear band T-shirts?
I did more often in high school, but then the "monster merch" trend came up, and I started hating it. The band shirts that I have that don't sport cheesy monster/gore graphics, I still wear. And of course I will buy merch of a band I love if they have decent stuff.
What do you think of people that do?
Do what you want. But again with the cartoony-monster-gore trend – I'm more inclined to think that you're under the age of 18 if you wear that stuff.
What music sub-culture do you feel like you belong to?
The one between post-hardcore and metalcore. I'd say that's a nice midway point.

Do you sing in the shower?
No.

A) I shower first thing when I wake up; therefore, I'm too grumpy/sleepy to.
B) I just don't.
Would you rather marry a musician or be one yourself?
I think I would prefer to be one. Marrying one would just mean putting up with them going away on tour constantly. Being the musician would a more adventurous, well-spent life. In my opinion.
How important is your partner's taste in music to you?
Extremely, extremely, extremely important. My last boyfriend picked up on a lot of the music I listened to, and I mean a LOT. It's good to have someone that doesn't mind me headbanging in the car to Jake Luhrs or Jared Warth screaming, but I would prefer that he has his own individual tastes. At the same time, though, I couldn't date someone that jams to techno/electro/house/rave. I personally feel like the two genres (metal/punk and electronic) are too personality-defining to be able to mesh well between a couple.
