hmmm...well you already named some of the best pagan bands around...I'm not that much into that stuff but how about finntroll, primordial or equilibrium....an concerning kalmah, check out wintersun, insomnium and stuff like that

well I reckon you tried to shout at ObituaryOfDeath instead of me but hey, whatever, I'll name some bands anyway.^^ If you're going for melodic death metal, check out arch enemy, god dethroned, dark tranquillity and amon amarth if you don't already know them (I was too lazy to check your top bands^^) and if you want to check out some really good "old school"/kick ass/groovy as fuck death metal then check out bolt thrower (love them) and obituary (again: if you don't already know them)....have fun ;)

Yeah those are good and The Black dahlia murder maybe? Yeah check out DevilDriver, although id say its more metalcore than melodeath! I like them. Actually you reminded me to listen to them again lol.

Try melodic death metal. Start with the latest album from In Flames which is a bit more easy then maybe work your way to Dark Tranquility and Children Of Bodom. Norther's great too. Hope it helps xD!

I honestly would have agreed with you 6 months ago, but I've come to love In Glorious Times much more. In Of Natural History many of the songs I liked musically I found out were not so great lyrically. Also, halfway through the album some of the songs sort of bored me. When I started listening to IGT more, I realized how much more bleak and dark yet distinctly human and humble the lyrics were. IGT also sort of gets boring but more toward the end. And the shorter song lengths seemed to make it feel more cohesive though. The criteria for both albums seems unfair because both albums have their own noteworthy genius: ONH had the greatest percussion which produced the greatest ilusion of metal when instead it was just good chunk, while IGT was actually more metal-oriented and much better in the lyrical department. I will say I don't like James Joyce so a whole song devoted to him really doesn't interest me as much.
